Providing a blissful array of healthy harvests for your family’s table
Our farm story
For over ten years, Janet and I have dreamed of farming—of being able to produce healthy, sustainable food and working out in nature. When we moved from the Madison area to Milwaukee, we searched endlessly for a home on several acres, but nothing ever felt right. Finally, in 2024, we found it—the perfect place for our farm and for the life we've always wanted for our family. It feels like a dream come true, like everything we've hoped for is falling into place, and we get to share this dream with our family, friends, and community.
Our Name
La Tavola Farm mixes Janet’s love of her Italian heritage with my love of gatherings with family and friends.
Growing up, Janet’s (Italian) dad always had a garden in their backyard—no matter how small the piece of land, he found a way to grow something. His eyes would light up with contentment as he tended to his plants and he would always smile as he showed us how his tomatoes were growing. I always imagined that, one day, when we had our own farm, he would be right there beside us, walking the land, offering his advice, and sharing his wisdom. He may no longer be with us, but I can’t shake the feeling that he’s still watching over our family, silently supervising from afar, just as he always did. His spirit is here with us, guiding every step we take.
In the warmth of a traditional farmhouse, a large kitchen table is the center of the home, worn by years of love and laughter. This is more than just a piece of furniture-it’s the soul of the home, where family and friends are always welcome. Here, meals are shared, stories are told, and laughter echoes through the air. It’s a place where hearts are full, hands are held, and memories are made, one gathering at a time.
We are so happy that you have stopped by to join our community and look forward to making memories with you.
Our Purpose
After moving from Madison, which has a strong focus on healthy food, we were inspired to grow our own food in a healthy and sustainable manner. Our goal is to be able to enjoy fresh vegetables straight from the field without worrying about synthetically made herbicides and pesticides. We believe it’s important to consume healthy food for ourselves and our three kids.
We enjoy sharing our passion for farming and growing food with others. It's rewarding to educate others about our farming techniques, such as low-till, permanent garden beds, crop rotation, and intensive gardening.
